Old School Superman

When I was a kid growing up in Denver, the local independant station used to run the old George Reeves "Superman" show monday through friday at 4:30. I loved that show. That was the show that got me into "Superman". Reeves was a great Superman. What he lacked in muscles he more than made up for with attittude, style and solid acting. Best Superman ever.
Anyway, he was on my mind while I was doodling the other day.

Big John! Keeping this thing going. Thank god. Love the Superman. I don't really know the old series that well. I've always had a hard time with the acting styles of the time and (I know this is unfair) the effects and look of the TV stuff like that from the era. I think I'm a spoiled product of my time. I just know I love Battlestar Galactica. I know that sounds bad. But, by the same token, I'm a big fan of 'Quark' with Richard Benjamin, so there's that.

Loved Quark! Holy crap! I haven't thought about that in years!!! I was so disapointed when they cancelled that show. Great Star Trek parody that pre-dates Galaxy Quest by about 25 years.

Sexy! The Reeves Superman was the first version I ever knew. I always liked his cameo on the "I Love Lucy Show."

Super sketch!

On Howard Stern.com, Ralphie-cakes used Photoshop to show how he thought the costume of the newest Superman should have looked. I have to agree with his revisions. The "S" needs to be big! Nice sketch by the way!

Thanks everybody!
Hey Bob! I saw that too, although I disagreed with Ralph's interpretation. I wrote them an e-mail yelling at Ralph and telling him to get a life. (This is probably because I hate Ralph.)
On Routh, I thought the smaller S looked fine, but there is something cool about Reeves's classic suit with the big S!!
