A few quickies

Did these today during work. I've been so damn busy and crawling out of my skin to put something up. Did these in one of those little 2"X3" sketchbooks during breaks. Just some blue pencil and Pentel sign pen.

A little oops. I also used a little tone from a Staedtler gray brush pen.

nice to see these little guys blown up big. They seem lively and quivering with energy!

These are rad!

They warm thee cockles of me' heart like the drawings from "Bummers" of Dynamite magazine. Bring back any memories?

I love this style of drawing. Just keep em' coming, Funk!

'Cause these illustrations are 70's funk!

I would love to see you design as many pirates, each with distinct personalities, in this style as you can. You know? Just like the walls at the entrance to Disney's Pirates of the Carribean.

Write up some "Funkula style" bios, and self publish them!

Now!

(It would be something that would make Ricky Gervais proud).

Thanks Doodlers. Having seen your work, your compliments are appreciated indeed. Bobopoly, I went to check out 'bummers'. I remembered it, but couldn't see it in my head. Then I found one online. You're right! As far as my stuff looking 70's...Thanks! I love that era! One of my favorite bits of work of all time is the picture book thast came with "The Point" by Harry Nilsson. thw book was done by an illustrator named Gary Lund. When he came to CalArts, I had him sign mine. He and Chuck Jones are the only two autographs I ever bothered to get there. 70's, come back!

I knew a guy who would fill up those little sketchbooks back in college at Sheridan.

Great sketches, looking forward to seeing more of energetic work!
